    Salt glaze -
    Often German or American.

Since it has 2L for liter, I would guess this one is German. I don't think it has a lot of age. 1980s maybe - but that is purely a Big Guess.

Wait for @janetpjohn or @say_it_slowly to give an opinion.

The 2-liter capacity definitely indicates Europe, and the Germans make a lot of salt glaze. Love the face.

from the slightly grey-blue glaze it's most probably Alsatian, the German saltglaze is brighter.
bottom indicates new, most probably Remmy of Betschdorf.

I would say from the Westerwald region of Germany.

    Get well soon, Billy.

just in case you intend to buy and resell stoneware: better look for independent infoes, i.e. books, instead of selfproclaimed experts.

a very good book as well, but more on special items like religious adornments etc.:

generally they are down the drainpipe like all ceramics etc..
I sold off my collection of over 300 some 15 years ago, having handled about 700 to 800 by buying and selling.
such modern stuff like here may sell in the US, but the real good prices are long over.
then there's another problem when discussing stoneware. there are big discrepancies between the Anglo-Saxon classification system and the German one.

Billy, you don't need to learn Geman to find out where your pitcher was made, but it could be a suggestion for a future owner who wants to delve further into the subject.
For now, if you google Westerwald stoneware you will find others like yours.

If in doubt you can always contact the German ceramics museum in the Westerwald region, they also know other styles. Here is contact info, they speak English as well:
