komokwa The Truth is out there...!

    I'm comfortable with Mi'kmaq......
age is hard ....the wear makes it look older...
but in fact...it's just more uncared for..
    i's say....1980's give or take a decade..

Thank you! I learned something as I didn't realize the appropriate spelling for Mi'kmaq, learn something new everyday. I paid $18, is that in line with what the worth would be.

    not knowing the size
or seeing the base, the other side and inside ..
I can't even be certain that the bulge is weave or damage....

    so.....18 is ok....

at least the other side is nicer, but still the damage is so extensive as to render it for a beginners collection....or an interesting shelf decoration.

it's size and shape may allow for a bit more value.....

    my credo...
a broken basket , will always be just that....broken.

There is no repair for such a thing...
    but I like it anyways....;)

I have a great history with broken things, so this basket will fit right in! At some point I would like to purchase a real antique Abenaki basket. My fourth great grandmother was Abenaki, and I was so very happy to find out I had a trickle of Native American in me, but then again, most Vermonters have that trickle I would guess. Thank you for your help! It is greatly appreciated.
