Featured HELP WITH WORST ARTIST'S SIGNATURE EVER ON PSYCHEDELIC LIONS

Found this at a local thrift store today; it was priced at $99 but the manager gave it to me for $70 when I explained the signature was illegible & I was semi gambling on it.

But I like it!! It is big & ...cool; kinda of a Peter Max feel! I think it has "it" and it's worth a lot more than the $99 they were asking.

So...is it? Does anyone recognize the signature or the artwork? (I don't think anyone can decipher this one!)

Thoughts on it?

I like it as well...definitely has a buzz on. But have no clue, sorry. Maybe sig starts with a P? Is it the original or a print of it?

 

As I zoomed up closely on your last picture it looks to be a lithograph not an original painting. Plus it's behind glass . Artist still looking for the signature

 

A bit Fleur Cowles too. Did you do an internet image search?

Yes, that artist Pxctfjkwaw! I didn't think about them. I did image search for psychedelic animal/lion paintings and oh my there are many of them - but none like this or even close enough in this style, which this definitely has.

I also specifically image searched the signature and what came up as best guess is 'graffiti'. Which does fit actually. I live close enough to a train track to see this wonderful art and the name looks a lot liked those quick tags. So perhaps adding graffiti artist to the search will help narrow it down? I haven't time at the moment but can try later.

 

I'd think it worthwhile to open the back to see if anything written there.

The artist is Chinese: Tie Feng Jiang b. 1938

 

Title "Royal Couple"
Looks like it may be an unsigned Open Edition.

Is it signed in plate or did he hand sign all of his work? I'm hoping with his prices (the cheapest I saw one of these was for $1,295 - up to $12,000!), he hand signed them!
ALso it measures 31' all around (42" with frame), or 30" if I don'r count the small white border around it; is that part of the matting or the print (do I call it 30" x 30" or 31" x 31")

The style was familiar as the Yunnan School. Searched Yunnan contemporary Chinese art.

 

Journey yours is an unsigned open edition print. Yours is not hand signed by him or limited edition. Those prices that you see on ebay or what people are asking not what it sells for.

 

I know - I saw a sold price there too; at least I know this time I did good for the $70 I paid!
Do you know how I measure it (with or without the small white border)?
