I found this at a local thrift store today - I saw it when I peeked into the back to see what was coming out next; and waited by the door for it after I saw it - it's one of the coolest lamps I've seen in a while!
When you turn the switch on the base top light turns on, then turn again & bottom comes on (top goes off) and turn again and both light up.
I took pics on the floor & on a stand - I can't tell if it's a short floor lamp or a tall table lamp! (it's 36" tall - I'm guessing a tall table lamp)
Can anyone tell me anything about it? What style is that? (Leaf? Polynesian? Banana tree?)
    Is it mid century?
    Do you like it?
    Thank you!

On a stand - best way to photograph it to sell; on floor or stand or a side table maybe?

I haven't ever seen anything like this.

I am finding similar lamps searching Danish Modern or mid-century modern + bentwood or "bent wood" lamp.

I haven't found an exact match, but I'm still working on it.

Modeline of California made similar lamps with big globes.

Does the plug show age? If both prongs both are the small kind (not grounded) would probably suggest MCM.

Have seen similar if not exact. The smoked glass globes make me think c. 1970.

@mark737 Thank you for this link, Mark! On one of the photos of Majestic lamps is this ceiling fixture I "snipped" for illustrations. The year appears to be 1953, shown on another page (may not be from the same magazine though, but close enough I hope). Definitely puts these lamps/fixtures in Mid 20th Century, now called MCM:

My MCM chrome lamp was similar in styling, here on top of my computer hutch some twenty years ago. Globes were polished chrome and the stepped lighting was the same as described for OP's lamp.

Regrettably I don't own it any longer, it went to an offspring who admired it. Sometimes I miss it..

I get the impression do to construction this might be a home made lamp..... there were hundreds of "Popular Mechanics" magazine plans for projects as well as books with lamps. Could be wrong, but that's my take ....

    !
Mine was given to my youngest who took it to his Delray Beach FL condo that he sold two years ago. I don't know what happened to the lamp after that. He parted with most of the furniture he had there I think. Now I could be sorry too that I no longer have it; can't afford to buy one back, see comparable on e--B--y now:

Just found out from Majestic group on FB that this is from early 1970's and is by Nova of California!
Now looking for model/name to get more info on it to sell.
    Thank you!

Interesting. I didn't know much about Nova Lighting but see they are still in business and have a good summary of their history on their website. The lamps of theirs I've seen most often are arc lamps like this one, which they began making after a trip to Italy in the 60's and seeing the Arco lamp by Castiglioni.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?
