Carved Oak Cherub Bracket Corbel

Any opinions on age/origin of this bracket? It's carved from a solid log and appears to be made from oak. It's 8" high. Thank you for any thoughts.

It is small - perhaps off of a piece of furniture? If it was originally an actual corbel, I would expect the top surface to be smooth and level. From what we can see in the photo of the back edge, it does not appear to be (but it might just be the angle of the photo). Perhaps someone will recognize the vintage of the metal hangers.

I've seen hangers like that on early 20th century items, so they were possibly meant to be there. Would guess that it came from a piece of furniture ca. 1890-1910.

 

Ditto what Ghopper said. Would expect better quality carving if earlier.
