    Hello everyone,
I wonder if anyone can identify the marks on this silver ( I do not know what they are) .
I have searched in all my books, I could not find anything.
Also, I think they are silver plate, not sterling silver.
Can anyone tell me what they are? And how old?
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,
    Simona

A close-up photo of the marks & some measurements could be a huge help. ;)

A possibility is a master salt missing its glass liner which is usually done in cobalt blue.

It looks like silver plated marks, UK. The use of the crown was banned in 1896.

    Yes, it’s MN&Co
Followed by a S with something passing through the middle inside a square
Then followed by a old letter D in a square
Then I have no idea what’s that, looks like a turquoise standing in a square
    Last letter I think it’s also D

It's MH&Co - Martin, Hall & Co, a Sheffield company. And the other letters are EPGS for electroplated German silver, German silver being a pre-WW1 name for nickel silver.

    Hi Phil,
Thank so much for your response.
Any idea what were they used for, or what they are?
I bought them as ornaments, and display than as such, would be nice to know their purpose for being made.
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,
    Simona

As suggested earlier they are salts.

Thank you so much, I have now seen few different ones and some with blue glass, they are truly beautiful. For now, they will seat nicely in my window.

Just as a quick note, it's unlikely, given their shape, that these ever had glass liners, typically would have been offered gilt-lined to protect the interior.
