Thanks. and totally with ya, on the ID requirements. I know the full ID and age of all the items in the pic, apart from the silver plated arrow brooch...which Im guessing is late Victorian.

But I do have a little collection of little treasures, that I cant nail down, which I will be posting, in the coming days.

@Colinloves , Neat stuff Colin ! I always wanted to metal detect at the old Abaca Farm / Japanese garrison in Davao , Mindanao, Philippines when I was going there married to wife #1.....however , so much unexploded stuff iIthought better ! And when they were digging at the wharf with an excavator 10 feet out into the sea in Dumaguete, I pointed out that it had been extensively bombed at the end of WWII and made haste ....lol.....luckily, no one hit anything..... did my fair share of digging along the cliffs in Santa Cruz, California where a seashell museum had burned down circa 1915ish , and used to bring home wonderful cast iron treasures and coins as a kid , even dug a wooden Model t wheel out of the embankment....fun times ...still get a thrill when I dig up old "rust"....

Thak you everyone. Im so happy to find this forum. It looks great, loads of features and to think, if I didnt search for armchair ashtray, I would of never found this place. To think Ive searched for antique items for years and never seen this forum in the results.....But I guess thats cos the internet, is now first and foremost, a sales platform, than a knowledge platform :/

(sigh) In the old days it was the other way around. I used to answer questions on a UK message board that didn't even have pictures, just for fun. Now... everyone just lists whatever on a sale site.
