Sad little tintype/ferrotype

It's so dark that I am wondering if it's worth bothering with.
It measures - with the frame - 3" x 2 3/8".

The 1st photo is how it looks just setting there - the 2nd photo was taken with macro & flash.
At least with that one you can see what in the photo!

 

The more exposure to light the darker it will get.
So while you are waiting for replies tuck it away in a dark place face down

 

LOL! it is.
And it had been packed away in one box or another for over 30 years. But where it was before that, I have no clue.

 

This is sadly a case where the mat, glass and preserver are worth as much or more than the image. Collectors are always look for spare parts. And we are still just talking a few dollars.
