Securing a miniature vase to it's stand - suggestions ??

A couple of weeks ago I purchased miniature vase (c. 13cm) with a job lot of mainly Famille Rose porcelain. After lolling around in a cardboard box for a fortnight, it's time that a more permanent location be made available to display it.

Despite my efforts, I couldn't find anything suitable on the internet, and decided to use a small carved wooden stand - as per photos. However, the problem is that the centre of gravity on the vase is quite high and a sharp nudge will send the vase rocking and - horror of horrors - cause it to topple over.
So - I'm considering using temporary/semi-permanent means to keep the vase and base together. - such as Blu Tac or perhaps even light duty double-sided tape. Perhaps there is even a commercial product available for such a purpose ?

I'd therefore be extremely grateful to hear what the experts out there might recommend to use in such a situation.

I've seen this done with a putty like Blu Tac. I would avoid any type of tape as it may damage the finish on the wood. I'm not sure that type of stand is going to help your issue though. It may be too lightweight and toppling forward or backward might still be a problem.

Let me suggest that you use a larger round wooded stand, rather than an oblong stand, available at most oriental supply shops. Then use museum wax or earthquake wax (both available at Home Depot or other such store) to afix the vase to the stand and then use it on the bottom of the stand to afix the stand to whatever you sit it on. The wax will not hurt any surface. We use it here at the Museum. If this does not seem to make it feel balanced enough, let me suggest you put a 3in circle of felt or other cloth in the bottom of the vase and then add about an inch of sand, floral chips, marbles, or fine gravel. The cloth will just keep vase from being scared by scratches from anything you put in it to help keep the proper balance.

Ditto Museum putty. It is designed to with stand earthquakes I believe. I bought a tub 20 years ago and use it for all kinds of things. It does not leave a oily residue like blue tac can .
