    Good Day All,
I have recently received a chair as a gift and I would like to know the rough age of it or any other information. The chair has been purchased in England by my mother. 20220306_145514.jpg
I have looked everywhere but cannot find anything similar with addition of white.

Any answers will be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks.

Hi Kiki and welcome. I also don’t know. These are the only examples I could find with similar white decoration/patterns.The link below is just for interest sake and nothing more. The furniture knowledge members will have real answers for you. Again I don’t know anything about the age or authenticity of your chair (sorry)

I close up of the seat might help as it looks like it might be a regional coat of arms. Also a close up of the inlay, could be white wood, bone or ivory.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

My Mom had an Egyptian collection a LONG time ago, with one chair the same shape, or at least VERY similar.....but what I'm focusing on is what looks like a revealing symbol down in the structure.....someone figure that out....and you'll probably have the identity of the chair.....looks like it's also in the seat!

EDIT: Actually, the seat is a bit different if you look closely!!

Middle Eastern in origin. Egypt and Syria did a lot of this type of inlay work, though probably other countries as well. Does seem to have some age to it. Maybe just post-war?

Image searches return a few described as "Nasrid or Post Nasrid Dynasty, late 15th, early 16th century Andalusia (Spain)", like the one pictured here from Bonhams. That's the style anyway, as far as actual dating of your chair, I'd have no idea.

without hands-on inspection it's nigh to impossible to give these an age.
normally - in Spanish - they are called "jamuga hispano moresque".
still made and possibly Moroccan fabrication, where also Franco's family had their fingers in the business and brought them to Spain besides other furniture and carpets etc. after the tourism took off in the 50s.
