Good evening everyone! It's that time again for let's play a game! And this time you get to play FIVE GAMES IN ONE!

For those that are interested, if you choose to play, please be sure to do your best to follow the rules so we don't spoil it for others. Full disclosure, all the items are recent, and all have clues, so this game is absolutely a "lessons learned, be careful, look closely" kind of post. (super hint, I didn't buy all of these). Here is a refresher for those that have played before, and for those that are trying for the first time, here we go:

    1. Look at the photos for any valuable indicators/clues that these could be good/bad
    2. Use your intuition, or search engine skills, or any other piece of info you need to try to figure out if these are worth your time.
    3. Consider the following question: with only the info in this post including the photos below, do you have the gambling spirit to buy any of the items in the photos?

Here's the ways to respond once you have done the steps above so we don't spoil it for other guesses, please respond with one of the following options:

Since we are doing 5 games, please identify (1-5) which game you are answering
    1. I'm interested, but I'm not quite sure why
    2. I'm interested, and I think I know why
    3. I'm interested, and I know a country
    4. I don't see anything interesting I'm passing
    5. Too rich for my blood I'm passing

Good luck!!! After everyone that wants to play has a chance to answer, I'll provide some more details. Here we go:

Game #1: One photo, no other photos will be provided by the seller, listed at $75 plus another $20 for shipping. Listed as German silverplate:

    GAME1.jpg GAME1-1.jpg GAME1-2.jpg

GAME #2: You have these three photos, and the price for the group is $20. Listed as a silverplate set:

GAME #3: You have this one photo, buyer states they are packed up so no additional photos. Price is $50 plus $15 for shipping:

GAME #4: You have these two photos, listed as silverplate candle stick holders, price is $75:

    GAME4.jpg GAME4-1.jpg

GAME #5: You have this one photo, no additional photos will be provided. Price is $175:

GOOD LUCK and again be careful not to spoil the game for others!!!

Thank you to all the participants of the game, I will leave it up to those that have already played, should we start revealing details or wait for others to make their guesses?

Let's bump it up and see if we get any more guesses. Maybe give it to the end of the day or so?

Fun game. Looking forward to hearing what is what! :)

Alright guys, I think everyone that wanted to participate has had enough time, I figure we can start "sharing our notes" and revealing everything. Would someone like to offer up your opinions on JUST GAME #1? It seems the responses for group #1 were not interested (that answer is correct in my opinion) so can you share your observations on these photos?

@cxgirl awesome observation! I trust that a lot of others pieced that together too. This is a classic example of a listing that you have enough information on to observe, and pass on the purchase. These photos were all available in the original listing, so I didn't need to inquire further.

Ok, I will give my observations on GAME #2; this game is going into the "lessons learned" category. I got really excited on this one, and I was wrong on what I thought I saw....(yes, this happens to me). So let's start with the clue on the back (the wrong clue)...If you zoom in to the photo, you can just make out an HH mark on the back.

This led me to search for HH silver marks, and I came across this listing:

    http://www.leopardantiques.com/object/stock/detail/251

This led me to search for the Hooykaas silver mark, and I found this chart (source 925-1000.com):

    Scan10365.jpg

And this led me to conclude that these were denmark silver spoons, and the seller simply didn't understand the marks.....well I was wrong, here's the marks now that I have them in my hands:

    IMG_3538.jpg

All was not lost however, as I got a piece I wasn't expecting, the little server (pie server?) had a sneaky mark weighing in at 30 grams I think I'll cover my gambling loss...Hard to read, but it says W&L 835 W. Germany:

    IMG_3539.jpg IMG_3541.jpg

Ok, that's my confession on #2 GAME, would someone like to share their observations on #3 GAME?

That 90 told me the ones we could see in #2 were plated. The server thingie did make me wonder, and those plated pieces are a pretty pattern.

@evelyb30 would you mind sharing your observations on GAME #3?

Quickly commenting on game #2. I figured that server, even if silverplate --might be a close to $20 item, so was a break even gamble worse case which is why I said I was interested.

On #3... With no ability to handle or ask questions about those candle holders (since packed up) it was a pass for me. Also with that "Gorham Silverplate" card hanging from the side, one has to think there's a chance that was original to the pair. Plus Gorham certainly made plenty of silverplate candle holders.

    How did #3 come out?
