The local thrift store I go to every day got a delivery of art today (felt like Christmas!) - this was one of the pieces I bought (for only $10 so if it's nothing I'm still ok).
I wasn't sure if it was a print or a painting, and while looking for a signature I found in the bottom right corner - COLOURED BY JOSEPG WEISS...?
Can anyone make out the last name?
Has anyone seen anything else by the artist/color-er? (The way coloured is spelled means this is English?)
Any thoughts on it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!
PS - I know it has some discoloration mostly on the matting that I'm pretty sure is from the wood backing - is there a way to remove from the art? Is it worth it?

I think the name may be just Joseph Wilson – the last word is short for Senior. He hand coloured albumen prints with oil paint in the 19th century. If you search on “coloured by Joseph Wilson” there are quite a few examples on-line.
