This is the heaviest table lamp I have ever come across. I struggled to hold it up with one hand so I could take a picture with my phone in the other!

Really needs a good cleaning, too.

I Like this one. It has age to it. What is the shade made of? Glass?

    1920s is my guesstimate.
    That's avery nice looking lamp.
Looks like it has frosted and ribbed glass panels.

I was thinking 30s but you might be closer.
It looks to have the quality. Look for mark's on the base and shade. Similar to some
    B & H?

It desperately needs a cleaning. I bet it will look like a different lamp once you do. Id guess 1920s as well.

Yes. Ribbed on the outside, smooth and painted on the inside. I rather like it myself, I had actually been thinking about keeping it until I realized how heavy it is.

You should keep it. Where are you going to find a sweet lamp like that without paying a few hundred dollars? Go easy on cleaning the inside of the shade near the painted border.

Very nice. Will look great when cleaned. I'm wondering if it might have had 2 bulb sockets? The light would have been distributed better if so.

I’m fairly sure it used to. And it wasn’t plugged in, which makes me a bit nervous.

Nice lamp! I echo the possible B&H attribution. Think it should be marked somewhere.

Talk about validation! I’ve always liked it. I think I will keep it and try to fix it up. I can always sell it later if I have to.

Socket details would be easier to see with a shade off photo . . . looks like a acorn pull chain, most likely a HUBBELL socket made in Bridgeport, Ct., who was the inventor and king of the pull chain socket. HUBBELL signed their sockets on the outside of the shell. . . also, if the socket half's are joined by a set screw, not a louvered press press together type then it's earlier - 1905-1915ish.

@Born2it - Please do post some photos of the lamp when you get it all cleaned up so that we can see it in all its glory & if you ever do get tired of it I don't think you will have to look far to find someone to take it off your hands. ;):playful::playful: :D:D:D

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Bradley & Hubbard. Just putting in the whole name for potential future searches. That's what B & H stands for.
