komokwa The Truth is out there...!

spam. = a new member showing up with a quizzical link to buy their jewelry...
    whom I reported....

but in the middle of night a post like that could sit till morning.....so I threw up a kind of warning post to get attention.......
& tell the spammer to piss off.....which they were unlikely to see anyways.......but they posted Twice.......so one never knows.......do one ?

Better , I am asked for an explanation .......than someone unwittingly clicking an interesting but possibly dangerous link... !!

    Right ?? :):):)...;)

I haven't had this one very long.

I'd be grateful for any information regarding usage, function or age--although I realize the latter is difficult.

    It is a beauty, @GreekAntiques .
That's a tricky one. It is Tibetan, and most sources call it a ceremonial monk's hat. That is all I know, and there are countless styles of monk's hats, for different sects and occasions.
I wonder if it is associated with the ancient Bön religion, rather than Tibetan Buddhism. There are parallels between the two, because Tibetan Buddhism is greatly influenced by Bön, although some sects more so than others.

Hey everyone! Really loving this thread and the collection of pieces. Tibetan and Himalayan jewelry has such unique character, and it’s great to see authentic examples here so different from the typical "Tibetan-inspired" jewelry that often doesn’t capture the intricate details or traditional materials.

For anyone interested, I found a small shop recently that specializes in pieces similar to those showcased here some truly intricate Ghaus and amber bead necklaces that resemble the beeswax amber mentioned. They also had a few antique Dzi beads, though those are always a splurge.

Has anyone else stumbled upon hidden gems for authentic Tibetan jewelry?

Whereabouts did you find it? We are an international forum, with members all over the globe.
I do occasionally. And I have my beady eye on some Bhutanese bits and pieces that are coming up for auction.;)
