We received an antique pedestal bowl. White glaze and the whole thing is crazed.
The mark on the bottom looks like the Geo. S Harker & Co. stamp, but I haven’t been able to find much about the company or similar pieces.
    Any help would be fantastic.
It is about 6.5” tall and 5” wide at the base with the bowl being 10” wide.

Thank you for that. I guess what I’m asking is if there is a clear way to identify the age of the item?

This is from DeBolt's book of marks listing it as 1879-90. That museum site just shows 1879 for the mark they show. This is the only example of this particular mark and yours seems to lack the lower ribbon portion .

I'm sorry that I do not. If you have access to a copy of Lehner's Encyclopedia of US Marks on Pottery, Porcelain and Clay, there is a very long article on Harker there. Unfortunately it has no illustration of this mark with dates of use.

That may mean it is the earliest mark, but not necessarily. You might want to be in touch with the Museum.

Thank you all for the help.
I will try reaching out to the museum.
