Please show the whole table, not just the top.

Appears to be stain/lacquer mixture. Depending upon age, you may wish to leave as is.

It probably had a glass top originally that fit into the indent, and water got under it. I'd buy it a new piece of glass and probably leave bad enough alone.

Anyone else catch the Lord of the Rings allusions? I'd date it to the early 1970s. Agree on the glass top.

I was thinking LOTR too. Easy sale in the right crowd, for sure.

    Allusions.

Looks like there's a round hobbit hole with a hobbit in it and a round hobbit door. Also some mystical-looking towers and trees; the tree to the right of the hole reminds me of the artwork on the early 1970s U.S. edition of Lord of the Rings.

I am unfortunality not home for 3 weeks. I gona post more then.

Its a 3 part table with the other one smaller then the first. It also has carving on the sides.

Thats a realy good ide with a glass cover!!!

The tower is proborly a pagod (a Asian type of house). Fits my mystic style perfect:D Love mystic objects:)
