WOW stunning stone could be red spinel or even fire Opal whatever it’s beautiful also does it flourless under UV light x

 

It's essentially a magnifying glass with a built-in stand that folds up. That way you're looking at the rug through a preset distance. They were used for collecting stamps too, which is why my dad had one.

Antique Dutch brooch with similarly cut carnelian. No specifics on age etc. I would say this one is a bit younger than yours, but also made to be worn with regional dress (streeksieraad):
