    hello everyone,

I know nothing about this type of item. The third pic shows a nail, or so I think it’s a mail, that appears to have some age on it. I am thinking this is an antique but would love to hear opinions I’m trying to help an elderly lady with some of her things

thank you for any help you may provide.

    enjoy your day!

Looks like she may have an old "walking wheel" (notice there's no foot treadle) but it's missing significant bits and would likely never be usable and therefore would only have decorative value... which generally isn't very much.

Hi @gauntlettgems, your wheel looks very similar to what was my Mom's wheel, but you don't have the 'head' on yours.....once upon a time "back when", she had a box load of spare parts, but alas those are long gone.....second pic is showing the head......and yes, she used to spin a bit on it (not a lot!), but NO, I never did!!!

With all the missing parts and the way the wheel is out of round it's pretty much just a decorative item. Would look nice setting on an old farmhouse porch in the summertime.
