Featured Are these octagonal glasses?

Has anyone come across glasses like this before?

I'd be interested to know where they were made and if it was for a specific function

These look like the 1980's Bohemian Deco revival style glasses that came with decanters at the time. My Dad used to have some of these back in the day. They were generally used for liqueurs etc, some were really well made too. I bought quite a bunch myself back in the late 90's from a German guy who use to drive his van into Czechoslovakia and pick up sets very cheaply there then sell to dealers in the UK. They are loosely designed after some Moser sets from the 30's

I can't say who made them.......I came to u guys 4 that....

but, I grew up with this type of glass at all my families events..!

 

Filled with slivovitz? I can see plum brandy in that one.

Judging by that description you have found your people. Most of us here have multiple "crammed cabinets of the curious".
