This guy has great videos on a great many illustrators, Maxfield Parrish being my favorite.

Thank you so much! As a former Philadelphian, I learned about Parrish, N. C. Wyeth, Howard Pyle, all the marvelous women in that group who painted babies and children, etc., etc. Parrish is always a favorite illustrator, perhaps because one of my first books was the Eugene Field one.

However, I had never seen a picture of him before. Wow!

Here's a good discussion about color, technique, perceptions, revolving around his Daybreak painting.

thanks a lot. I hope they have enough illustrations in them. I don't like to read anymore, rather look at pictures to get a feeling for an artist. it's more joy to look at than interest in all the technical details these days; I tire too fast when reading.

An interesting watch thanks for posting, a new name for me

Loved how he learned to develop colour through his tuberculosis, and what a breakthrough it was

Seemed to give his images a whole new life

This one seems to be my favourite by looking into his work

The 16 on my walls are my favorites.
Even the trashed print tacked-up in my garage!

My great-grandparents had one hanging on a living room wall back in the early 50's when we went to visit them on Sunday. It fascinated me!
