I like the scene and the colours used. It is signed (The initials: BR or RP,BP or even RR?) I know very little about art but I will guess and say: Maybe a amateur or weekend painter with some formal training? What do you think? From the 70’s or 80’s? It is 40cm x 32cm.. Thank you and keep well

Attractive painting, Boland. In some respects I prefer it to the Gerard one. For instance, to me the jetties and the way the rocks along the shore are grouped look more natural on your painting.

Yours is painted on 'Talens schildercarton', painter's cardboard. Talens is Dutch. In 1949 Talens became Koninklijke Talens, Royal Talens, so I would guess the cardboard dates from before 1949.
Painters use old materials sometimes though.

Luc Gerard is from neigbouring Belgium, where painters also have access to Talens materials. I wonder if Luc Gerard and 'BR, RP, BP or RR' were painting buddies, one painting on canvas, the other on 'Talens schildercarton'.

Nice find. Company founded in 1899 so that's your window.

Many thanks for the reply and great information provided. So that gives a rough timeframe (as you say) So I was obviously completely wrong again :).. I will also search Luc Gerhard for interest sake.. But yes,I do like the little painting.

There's a bit of Van Gogh influence there. Look at the bold outline of the rocks and broad strokes used to depict the earth on the right.

I'd have rescued that too. It's probably tourist art, but if so it's good tourist art and not the usual tat.

I wouldn't think tourist art. An amateur painter perhaps but trained. He certainly accomplished what he set out to do. Attractive frame. Looks dirty though. A gentle cleaning might brighten it up. And you can always ask the company when that particular board was available.

Yeah I know what your saying, I have favourite songs, yet not a favourite band

    Gauguin was my favourite,
