Are These Ivory Netsukes???

I have a couple of these.

They don't particularly look Japanese but I could be wrong.

They are smooth, hard, cold and of a good weight.. not heavy or feather light.

Having only 1 picture - taken from the front and not the reverse - showing only 1 hole as well, are 'the couple" of these are they both the same?

 

The image make it look plastic.. And 'bitty'...

It doesn't look plastic to me, or I wouldn't have tagged anyone.
How big is it?

 

Around 2 inches maybe 60mm for some.. and width and thickness proportional.

With that many I start to wonder, but let's wait for more knowledgeable people.

 

I suppose they look African / Tribal? Possible an island like Papa New Guinea etc?

 

A necklace, alternating light & dark???????? But they might need special knotting to not look weird !

Based in Yorkshire, UK.. I bought them on an antiques / second hand market with the intention of putting a 925 silver loop on them and then onto a silver chain to sell as made jewelry, and just had them in a box storage for 4 years.. I shoen them to a friend on another antiques market and he was the one who told me they may be Netsukes.

I vehemently do not like the idea of trading ivory, but hopefully these are very old and at a time when man was not conscious of his environment. And would certainly not destroy them.... Maybe one day in the sky a great god will judge me on my deeds and actions but for now, I am keen to get them valued.

You can either Google what a real Netsuke looks like, or someone here can show you one of theirs....should be two holes on the back, one hole larger than the other....and they are usually carved all the way around.....quick synopsis!!
