Hello, I've been all over the Internet for hours and I am stumped. I cannot find any info on which company this 8-pointed dark blue/black glaze stamp belonged to. The first crock is mine, the rest (and there are very few) I found on-line. Nobody seems to know. The closest I can come is the five-point star of "Star Stoneware Co.", Crooksville, OH. Not at all the same and there don't appear to be any company narratives on-line about them to see if there are any recorded logo changes over the years. Frustrating!

Thanks Janet. I contacted them. Here is what they said:
"These 20th century crocks were made throughout the U.S. in huge numbers. It is very difficult to say where it was made unless it is signed by the manufacturer.
    Best,
    Tony Zip".
No joy. Some graduate student needs to do their dissertation on this!

Sorry, I had hopes. Lehner's Ency. says the same thing as Tony.

I didn't find it either but just wanted to throw "sun" into the conversation as an additional search term.

I didn't make that connection, but it's obvious now that you pointed it out. I kept getting my brain stuck on "quilt star". Thanks!

My roommate just bought a 4 gallon one, we are now on the search for a 2 quart or gallon size one. It’s also unmarked! Commenting on the hopes someone will be able to identify the maker!

One on Etsy suggests "Star Stoneware Co Crooksville Ohio"
