Please help identify this hallmark

    1.jpg 2.jpg Hi everyone, I have two chains, one silver and one gold. Both have the same "star" symbol which I can't identify. It' not Italy symbol, it's not Sheffield symbol either. What is is then? :)

    Thanks, I thought it could be Sheffield but the symbol does look like a star rather than a rose, doesn't it?

    The second image is clearer for me and is definitely a rose.

    Wouldn't it have a hallmark date letter as well if it's Sheffield?

    No, it could well not have a date letter. There's been much argument about these common control marks: some see them as inferior to "proper" hallmarks because they are less detailed. That's Sheffield.

    Your marks are Sheffield, and they meet all the International Convention requirements - and though they're typically still used with British hallmarks, date letters have actually been optional since 1998...
