I would appreciate any thoughts about these two crystal vases. I know they are crystal - the sunlight through my windows created prisms madly all day today on my walls. They are both 11 inches tall and very heavy. The unmarked one is 5 inches in diameter at the shoulders, and the marked on is 5 1/2 in diameter at its widest point. They both appear to be machine cut - I don't see any mold marks.

The marked one looks like it is also machine etched. The mark appears to be a crown and initials shaped into a martini glass - I darkened it, so you could see it better. I couldn't find it anywhere, but perhaps it is European.

I like the unmarked one better since it appears different from each perspective, as if the glass is draped. It is unmarked on the bottom.

I'm hoping someone recognizes the mark or the style of the unmarked one. Any pointers, leads or thoughts will be gratefully appreciated.

I needed two new vases like I needed a hole in my head, but yes, I found them very interesting and heavy.

Yes. I think the difference between glass and crystal is that crystal has lead in it. I think I read that here. It is very hard for me to resist pretty glass.

No idea what to make of it, perhaps a merger or retailer? No idea where Avitra might fit in.

The vase seems to be Novelette however I found one with a box and mark like yours saying Crystal Clear Industries (NYC address) made in W Germany so perhaps a retailer/importer? And another saying Beyer Crystal (W Germany) though different size.

This sure is interesting. This second vase is smaller than mine, but of the same design and company. Poland, Romania, W Germany, NYC, this design and vase sure gets around. I wonder if there is a master factory somewhere making these and various importers and companies place their labels on them. My mark is etched. Perhaps, it is an earlier version. This is very confusing. Thanks so much for the research.
