This glass carafe / decanter is 23 cm high (with stopper about 26 cm) and 7 cm diameter at the bottom.

bottom is numbered; 2 in gold. I also see a type or brand on the inside but can't decipher it.

decoration is carved into the glass and then colored with gold and blue color. here and there the colors are faded.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

If you put liquid in it.....can you cover JUST the BOTTOM that has the DIRT in it??

Then maybe letting the very bottom soak for a while with mostly dish detergent & a bit of water might just loosen up the dirt....you just don't want to let the detergent get on the colored part and possibly ruin that.....IF the color is on the INSIDE....if not...then no worries......but see if anyone contradicts what I'm suggesting first too!!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: NICE looking decanter!!

Gorgeous. The decoration looks a bit Wiener Werkstätte (Vienna 1903-early 30s).

Bohemian, late 19th, I'd agree on Secessionist. I don't think that's a makers' mark. The number is to match the stopper.

Buy denture cleaning tablets and dissolve one in warm water in that thing. Let it sit and think for a bit. Empty and rinse, then make a sort of wick from kitchen roll and put it in a warm place to dry off.

Thank you all! I really apreciate your help.
I'll try to make clean it with denture cleaning tablet but dont have any at home. Is any cleaning tablet is good or should i buy a special brand?

any idea what this is. it looks like a faded sticker to me but the weird thing is that it's in the carafe and not outside? 20220129_134623-0_copy_432x960.jpg 20220129_134828-0_copy_432x960.jpg

Use the cheapest denture tablets you can get, they all work.

I think someone dropped a sticker in that.

    It’s beautiful!
Sort of Art Deco meets something that I’m not quite sure about?
I just had to google Secessionist, it’s about as clear as mud. That was after spending far too long twisting my tongue trying to work out how to pronounce it

Agree, it is indeed a difficult word :joyful:, never heard before and I am very grateful for all help I get here.

in the evening, i bought the dental cleaning tablets. Should i wait 1 or 2 min. and then rinse or much longer?
