Help Me Identify this Dresser Please

My friend purchased this dresser at a discount from a dealer for $100. We could not figure out the period or group or location when this was created. It has a beautiful form and she would appreciate any information you can give about it. Thank you ahead of time for your input.

 

I don't think it is very old. All of its old look comes from the applied layers. Look on the inner sides of its drawers. I would expect some manufacturer branding there.

 

My friend is in the process of picking it up and she will check the inside of the drawers. She thinks it's maple.

 

She is thinking it's Mid century.

 

No stickers or maker's mark inside the drawers.

 

It's a retro look ... looking back from a modern age. That's all I got.

 

Similar to Cushman "Colonial Creations" items from 30's-50's. Might be mid century in terms of age, but not Mid Century Modern style.

It looks like a wooden jigsaw puzzle! The front says early to mid-50s to me.
