Featured Utter madness !!!??

Don't worry it's not a whinge fest tee hee, just the band

Was wondering what I would call this kind of print ?

Found it in a charity shop for about £3

Looks like it's been done with paint (textured areas)

And signed

Not very old

Measures 24 inches by 18

Any thoughts appreciated

 

I did this in Photoshop from an image I found online, ches. It took about a minute using the "Threshold" utility. I wonder if it was done digitally and then either someone made a silk screen, or stenciled it out from a tracing and painted it...or some such.

 

Interesting sabe, always wondered how they transform an image to this basic form

Here's one that I used the Trace function in Adobe Illustrator. Might be what they did and then tweaked before final art was made. Has more characteristics of your piece...and you can scale it up to any size without loss of image quality

 

One step beyond Utter Madness....... there are those on this side of the pond who have no idea what you are talking about .... I am not one of those , not that I would ever fault anyone here who did not know Madness ...... Fun band , one of "No Doubt" ( Gwen Stefani ) favorites .... Suggs is 61, Gwen is 52, I am 60 , and where the hell did the time go so fast ?????????

If anyone knows Madness on this side of the pond and they are not a die hard music person , it would be because of "Our House"..... great song !

That new ones fantastic ! More cartoony/sharper and I guess easier to trace and cut

 

Heard the hook from same as soon as the band name popped up. I'm a child of the synth pop era. They never went crazy big here, but they did chart.

 

Must be love was a great one as well

 

we made these by hand. dark/shady areas black, the rest left white.
favorites and easiest ones were Che and Jim Morrison.

 

I know this one too. The title wasn't familiar, but I was singing along on the chorus. Knew it right off. Great tune.
