Featured Reverse Painted Lamp

picked this up at auction this morning for $300 I am guessing 1920s or 30s. No makers mark visible but I love it for our basement. Any thoughts on age and or maker.

 

Could be Handel, have you looked real close at the bottom rim, marks can be faint, not all were marked but paper labeled.
I don’t think the finial is original.

 

I will have to wait until I pick it up next week to check, anundverkaufen. It was an online auction and when I inquired, they indicated that they could not find anything. It would be nice if it were Handel. In any case, we needed a nice lamp for our end table and this will work.

Lovely lamp!

I am lucky to have a Handel.....it is marked on the shade, but I forget just where.

Hopefully you will find a maker's mark.

Mine is only the shade....it is not on a lighted, painted base.

 

I have a couple of Tiffany lamps and shades but always loved the look of Handel reverse painted. Even if this isn’t Handel, it will serve as a lovely decorative piece. Would love to see a photo of yours, Judy!

 

Could be a Jefferson too.

I was able to get a fairly good shot.....it's not reverse painted, it's a panel lamp and the scene is in the metal it's set in.

The 2nd photo is one that hangs in my dining room. Never could find a signature, but I love it.

I only have panel lamps in my home....all from the turn of the Century. I love them all, but the best one is the Handel.

 

Gorgeous. nice one for the collection.

You must not have young kids running around your home, having pillow fights, etc. so many of these reverse panted lamps I see at estate sales do not have the shades.
