    hey folks

    bought these 2 paintings yesterday for a pound each

    this ones painted in an oval shape

    thinking maybe japanese ?

    any thoughts on age, origin etc

    It is lovely, but it doesn't strike me as Japanese. And the name Allen, the painter?

    yeah maybe aj, i thought the figure and umbrella looked japanesey

    i think its says brown & something, then allen

    I think the subject matter may be Asian.
    Agree the figure with ponytail/umbrella and the roof line of the house appear that way.
    However, the style of painting doesn't appear to be Asian. More Continental/American.
