What are your thoughts on this ring? It has no markings on it. Appears handmade. It tests positive for 18k, it's white gold. I don't know what the stones are. They are semi transparent, simichrome tested, not bakelite, could be plastic, but for the life of me I couldn't think of why. Thanks in advance. Here it is...

I played with the lighting to emphasize the line going down the middle. Don't know what that's about.

It seems to be cut deep into the ring and then mostly filled.

    It is a cast ring.

Here is the 18k solution after 5 minutes or so-

and the final test after several minutes, side by side with the platinum solution on the left, 18k on the right, notice the bronze type color on the left?

Makes sense, thanks. It's funny because I never think of rings as being hobbyist or student pieces, but there is no reason why this couldn't be just that. I tend to overthink things sometimes being a detectorist/treasure hunter, an interest in history and lore goes along with that. Thanks for the easy and most logical explanation. Enjoy your holiday season.

It's kind of funky-looking. If all else fails I suppose it could be melted down so someone could try again.
