Haven’t been able to find this same design online or in the reference book I have. Kind of sloppy on the bottom, and kind of a pale blue. 60s? 70s? Fake?

I feel like this one is authentic

    Found in California Goodwill
    any input appreciated!

I have the almost twin to your low round pot. with the exception that mine has a capital T below Colo Spgs. The glaze color does seem to match on both of those, but I'm not familiar with the shape and flowers on the first one. Sounds like you have already researched more resources on the company than I have in person, but I'll look anyway, just in case.

At $4 each, I'd be happy even if they are later. ;)

In my opinion, yes they are genuine but fairly new. I've never seen the vase shape before but the bowl shape has been used for decades and is available in a wide variety of glazes. Van Briggle can be hard to date if you're not an expert as they reused or recreated old molds frequently. The glaze is often the clue. There is a Van Briggle Show and Tell page on Facebook and there's probably a Van Briggle guru there who can date them.

I just assumed the daisy vase was real until I found that site . I was not aware these were ever faked. Sorry about the price stickers, I will take better pictures. I have a friend who was trying to buy them from me basically before id taken them to the register.. haven’t even had the chance to get them out of the car yet, so busy. Thanks all, I will continue the hunt to find record of that particular daisy design, another friend says if it’s real it’s likely a more modern piece/late 60s-80s era but he’s no expert either.

The news of fake Van Briggle pieces set off all kinds of alarm bells for me. I did know that the Lorelei and Despondency vases had been reproduced but thought they were the only pieces of VB that had been copied. I visited the Van Briggle Show and Tell facebook page and found the following statement from Curt Smith who I believe is one of the administrators on that site. It was posted in February of 2020.

"Just a note and a bit of info here to calm new pottery collectors and VB collectors particularly. During the time that I've been a member of this group I have seen posts from time to time showing purchases by group members sometimes new to the group, asking if their purchase is a fake. Almost all of the pieces they ask about are fairly recent and common Van Briggle works. Understanding that you who ask this may be new to collecting it, I'd like to reassure you that it would be a rare instance that a fairly inexpensive piece of pottery would be a candidate for faking. Fake Roseville from China pops up all the time and there may be folks who try to deceive from time to time but it's mainly on rarer more expensive pottery. In years of collecting VB I have never encountered a fake Van Briggle. Here's why you can be confident of your purchase. It would simply not make monetary sense to take the time and effort and money to throw a pot and glaze it and fire it and try to make it look like a piece you could find in any antique mall in the country for 10-50 dollars. It would be like taking all the time and effort to make counterfeit nickels. It just doesn't make sense from a money return sense. Hope this helps!"

that is extremely reassuring, thank you! In my eyes a vase/pot worth $100-$200 is a valuable piece, but I understand there are vases/pots out there worth many thousands. While to me it would make sense for folks to try and fake a $200 piece… at the same time when you factor in the material/time/equipment to make such a fake it begins to make less and less sense.
