Barcelona based designer David Grau produced costume jewelry from the late 1980s to 2004.
Traditionally, creating his jewelry, the designer used gold plating, enamel, bronze, lucite, poured glass, semi-precious stones and rhinestones. Also, all decorations of this brand have marking DAG or David Grau on the back side. Perfectly preserved due to high quality of materials and workmanship, vintage jewelry of this brand made in the 1980s-1990s is highly collectible.

The top one is Chinese freshwater pearl, amethyst, random pretty agate and probably sterling or rhodium-plated random metal. The strand of pearls has a costume clasp, but it might be a replacement. The ring has a silver mark, but...no idea if it's legit.

A is some sort of agate or maybe a quartz. Most likely agate. B... could be glass, could be stone, could be something else. C is either smoky quartz or glass. The clasp on this is new-ish and I've seen them in all sorts of metals. It has a rhodium coating from the look of it.

Thanks @evelyb30 . If i hold B and C on my check, they stay fairly cold. Does that mean they are not glass but real stones?

And what would be a suitable clasp for this one?

Not that I've ever been able to tell. It's not a reliable test. If the ovals are stone, horstail inclusions should show up in them under a strong loupe. Bubbles mean glass. The black ones ...I'd loupe the edges of the bead holes. If I see evidence they're molded, they're glass. Anything else ... could be anything and everything.

The ring could be a cross section of antler with silver decoration.

Or stone. Or acrylic. It doesn't look like bone to me, or ivory. It doesn't want to be tagua nut either.

20220110_160345_copy_1152x1152.jpg I searched all evening and morning for my 30x magnifier but unfortunately. Magnifier is missing. these are the best pictures i can capture with my camera app

I used the hot needle test and nothing happend. IMO the ring is not made from plastic 20220110_160904_copy_1152x1152.jpg 20220110_162317_copy_1152x1152.jpg

I buy job lots of jewellery and so often I find lovely items ruined by direct acid testing, destructive filing or hot pin tests. The person testing didn’t mind if it got damaged they just wanted to know if it was gold or silver. They then put it in a job lot and maybe I buy it because I am looking for something other than precious metals (and I’m cheap :hilarious:). It makes me sad that something with history or craftsmanship, or is just pretty has been ruined simply because we have different priorities. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to get on my soap box, just trying to explain why.

I have been the same way with cameos, buying ones that are in cheap settings or not mounted at all if I like the work. I always say I buy cameos, not settings, not the approach of those looking for investment grade pieces. In recent years have been saddened many times to see nice cameos broken at the edges that obviously have been prised out of their gold mounts for melt down. :(
