Is this a linoleum block print stamp or similar and hoping for age and origin

Hi, I think this is linoleum on wood and used to print on either paper or fabric. At least that's where my lacking research skills are telling me. I don't know if I should be in this or the art forum, but it does appear to be on the old side. I'm also interested in knowing where it may be from and how old it is. To me it has a Middle Eastern look but most of these I have found have patterns rather than human figures. Any help or leads will be appreciated.

I agree that it looks like an older linoleum block, for printing.

Not sure what / if there's a cultural reference or context there.

An Indian (India) servant on his knees holding a tray with a bowl on it?

I wonder if it's Nativity related.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

If a bowl, it appears to have something coming out over the top. Food?

Sometimes making an actual print can make the design more clear than even the block shows. If you have ink and a roller (it's called a 'brayer') you might consider making one.

    Just a thought.

Actually I do know someone who has one. I'm sure he would be glad to give it a spin (groan) to help me out and with a much better result. I do think the Indian idea is a good possibility also. I've looked enough now that I think my imagination is gettting the best of me. Thanks for the ideas everyone.

That's what I was thinking, too. But left my comment open for other thoughts to come in. :)
