Yes, brooches are out of fashion, so they get overlooked all the time. The gold mark on that leaf brooch is on the pin itself, so no wonder it got missed by the seller......but not by me!

The scene on the side you show is their Coriolanus design.

    *Runs off to google Coriolanus*
Oh Bronwen, I never thought to research what the scenes represent! You are amazing!
What can you tell me about the other side?
    Here are both sides.

The one Wedgwood reference I have calls this scene "Venus Hiding Cupids [sic] Arrows". Venus is usually depicted in a greater degree of undress. Guess Josiah knew his clientele.

Had to look for this one. Coriolanus I knew off the top of my head. There's a lot of shared territory between Jasper Ware & cameos.

Thank you so much! I love hearing about the origins of the designs.
Scantily clothed women usually get attention, don't they? You would think the upper class would like them, too. Haha

The ashtray looks Italian. May be something else for all I'd know. but it's pretty.

The dealer missed it, you didn't! I've gotten a few that way myself. The marks weren't glaring and the design was costume 99% of the time. Some dealers don't even look.

The glass could be Canadian. You might take a look at Lorraine.

I found this big old marcasite button for $1. I can't resist old buttons. Is there a term for the scroll work that resembles hearts?

My find of the other week. It looks like a fork, and then like a costume pin in the shape of the ultimate diet fork. Which it is ...signed front and back by Karl Lagerfeld. Paid under $20. It'll be sold locally eventually.

Re the bangle above…..it was fully laser hallmarked but I found out today that it had a metal inner band to strengthen it. I confess I didn’t put a magnet on it but the jeweller did and showed me today. I did get £25 so it was still a good deal, learn something new every day.
Toddled off to the Charity shop after and bought these newish snazzy earrings and floral brooch.

    Very nice everyone.
Houseful that bracelet gave me a memory flash. I think I remember something very similar from days gone by that were quite popular.

I was into copper for the end of the year and the begining of the new year...
The trumpet is THE regimental trumpet of the Mecklenburgische 89 grenadier regiment. A feared enemy at the time of the trench war in Northern France.
The kettle bears the familly crest of a very old French familly who helped a pope in (aproximatively!)1150 to stay as a pope ....
