Hello everyone, Just curious if anyone has seen something like this before. Got at a thrift, but thinking of selling. Solid and heavy, material unknown. Dining table. I don’t even know how to describe it, geometric? 30” tall 42” long 24” wide Thank you
Strange - you bought something for a price you don't disclose, you don't know what it is, then going to sell for how much? Material unknown - does a magnet stick? If aluminum it may be worth more as scrap metal.
Nice design - I would definitely grab it if I saw it at a thrift shop. 24" is a bit deep for a console table, but could be. Or it could be a dining table base made for a much larger piece of glass. I would describe it as "modern geometric table base". I did an image search and found nothing, so probably not by a designer like Evans or Mayen.
I think it's a modern bar... Think elegant glasses in the openings, bottles on top. And I don't even drink...
I once was told to describe a sculpture in Art class ( in writting) for an assignment. I wrote that the sculpture reminded me of a partition between two booths in a Denny's Restaurant. And it did. The sculpture was by the teacher . I was given a D. Some people just can't accept criticism , and should not ask about their work. LOL I actually like that table but it could be a table in a bank , it is rather industrial.
It is too high at 30 inches for a coffee table, which was my first guess, as Mark pointed out way too deep and for a console table. A kitchen / Bar with stools perhaps.
I’m not sure, someone at the thrift said it had a giant glass that had broken during transit. What else could it be used as?
It was $30, so if someone wanted it for that, that is fine. I originally just thought it was cool and odd.
Thank you all I appreciate your input, helps me have at least some direction. The fam is complaining about it, lol. Maybe the next person will love it and work it out!
Hmm, it had a giant glass previously? What sort of furniture might have a large piece of glass on top of a base? This is quite the mystery.
