Help identifying artist signature

Hello. I have an old oil painting with forest scenery on it. It comes from Netherlands. I was searching all over the web but I cannot find who could paint it. Thank you for your help.

 

I originally thought Gies Cosyns but I don't think that signature or style matches up. What does the back of the painting look like?

 

I will try to make a photo later today of the back because it hangs/stands in my hall I need someone to pick it up And believe me it's heavy.

 

Interesting. Cosyns did work with that subject and larger formats. And signature doesn't look dissimilar to my eye.

Just noticed it was photographed in front of a car, it's almost as long as the car! Large painting for sure.

Yes picture was taken by my husband in front of his favourite car Chrystler 300C gladly he is from that kind of normal persons and don't care about scraches so much

 

No first name on OP's, but there are definitely some similarities, I think......

I was wondering if this could have been an earlier work before he was established?

 

I can see Cosyns and Cosyens with an extra e in one siggie but not the other?

 

This is a naive painting. There's a very good chance you will never find out who did it. I don't see it as similar in style to the Gies Cosyns paintings online.

 

If his, I would certainly think an earlier work.

Thank you all for your help but I don't agree with this path that this might be Gies Cosyns art. The signature is totally different. Costera or Costera. I don't know where you can see n and s even when we assume its y after s.
