Dixie China Hutch

Can anyone help me determine the year/value of this china hitch please?

 

If I recall correctly, Dixie's French Provincial furniture line was made from the late 1950's into the late 1970's/early 1980's. Its heyday, however, was the 1960's.

This piece "screams" 1960's to me.

 

the value depends on too many factors that are unknown at present...

 

In my neck of the woods, china hutches are "good luck with that" unless they separate into two or more pieces for easy moving. And they're a desirable design. This one .... would be a tough sell.

 

In my area, less than $100, and most probably for free.

Looks like 1972 to me.

 

I, too, would have guessed early 1970s. And I agree that it would be a tough sell... at least in my area of the midwest USA. Very common on the resale market and available very low priced. Grandma and Grandpa's homes often being cleared out...

 

Advertise it as a display hutch for folded Quilts! Around here gun safes with glass fronts are re[purposed with shelves to display quilts.

 

It would make a good retail display. The'd have to take the glass out unless they were making the goods 5-finger discount-resistant but it would be good in a clothing or other store.
