Any idea of age or origin please?
To my uneducated eye it looks well made. The whitish part looks plastic-like or shell-like. there looks a N carved on reverse but its too tiny to get a good pic .
    Approx 2.5cm tall 20220102_212120.jpg 20220102_212025.jpg
    Any ideas please?
    Thankyou for looking :)

Trombone clasp suggests possibly French. The hinge is 1910s or 20s ish.

    French, Lourdes souvenir!
The image in enamel is ND de Lourdes, the Virgin appearing to Bernadette Soubirous:)

Hum... thousands is not millions persons visited Lourdes since the miraculous apparition! Souvenirs were of course machine made:D on yours, only the assembling of the plastic petals and enamel center was done by hand...
Google images for antique vintage Lourdes souvenir trinkets:cyclops:

Mon dieu! Now you've said that, of course I can see it. I've got a Lourdes medal somewhere. Souvenir of my catholic childhood.

Later IMHO, the use of this nacreous plastic speaks more 1950 to me;)

oh well that's a shame. I thougt 1910-20 was much better;)

I think it's fascinating how this scène has been reproduced so beautifully in 0,5 cm diameter.
    Its so tiny....

I don't know how my post (above) wound up on this thread?
It was supposed to go onto the thread about an old clutch purse with silver embroidery? :O
