I have shared a Terapeak subscription for years with someone. The subscription is in his name & he just shares the password information with me.

I will say that it has helped me make money by keeping me from buying something that does not sell & buying something stuff that does. The only problem now is that eBay owns both Worthpoint & Terapeak, so can the information put out be totally trusted? Also a year's subscription ran around $269 a year in the past, but it will be interesting to see what it will be come next spring when it is time to renew the subscription.

Although it would be great for more people to give the results of a sale, I think it would be difficult to manage. We could not give out the password site wide because this is an open forum. So who would have access to the information? I assume it would work the same as Terapeak where only 1 person can be on-line with the account at a time. So if you have multile people using the same account they would constantly be knocking others off the access. JMHO

 

As long as it lands on MY table at home after purchasing it for that price, I'm happy it landed on the $5 table! Went to an estate sale today. Drove 20 minutes in the freezing cold, I didn't go to get there at the door, and spent ....$3.50. Three bucks of that was scrap silver that ought to cover the gas there and back. Really worth my time. They had some jewelry and silver there still, but one look at the prices told me why. Nutso.

 

I bought a large lot of Towle gold plated flatware both place setting & serving pieces in a really nice wood flatware box last night at the auction. I was quite pleased to get it for what I did, but when I got home I found that the 3 small odd pieces of what I thought was silverplate were really marked Denmark sterling.

I may make all of my money back on the 3 pieces of sterling judging by previous eBay sales.

 

My favorite finds this weekend. 1. Mexican sterling cat with one eye open (She's suspicious I might want to melt her) with pre-WWII marks. No clue who it is. 2. Something I found today. The flowers are plastic but I saw what looked like a karat mark and a trombone hinge. Still can't read the marks on the stem, but that's an 18k mark on the back of the leaf! I can't make out the hallmarks even with a 30x loupe. I'll have to start some hail mary threads on these.

Made in Japan figurine,wich I normally wouldnt buy,but she intrigued me with that hair ! Plus,its so much thinner than most,could that mean older ?

 

Caithness used to sell for real money. No idea what it does now. I'd use the ceramic bit to hold my little flashlight. Or the cat's red laser.

 

Are you sure it is plastic? I think frosted crystal, as it seems the leaf is nephrite jade, and maybe diamonds in the center of pistils
Give it a good wash and tell us

 

The diamond tester says no joy on the "diamonds", and the flowers are too "warm" for glass. The leaves do feel like jade, so who knows. I've tried getting another shot of those bitty marks and we'll see what I get.

 

Check with a loupe if the flowers have little flea bites and if yes how the texture of glass in them
Or... taste after the wash

 

If this were Chinese I'd have no trouble believing it was 18k and plastic; the Chinese have been known to do some seriously strange things! The flowers are definitely molded, so no stone at least.

Sure looks like it! I only wish this one was a Jensen with its eye!

 

Got to two estate sales today. I wasn't planning on going to the first one, but the dumb body woke me up and off I went. They'd opened early, but there wasn't any jewelry to miss; the health aides had helped themselves. The second one, that didn't advertise jewelry, actually did have a bit. Scooped up most of what was still there when I got there, including a Robert Lee Morris ring and a malachite pendant that seems to be older than dirt. The purse is a Whiting& Davis, new in box. There's also a ladies' Parker fountain pen, and a pin from Boston Latin. I don't think the lady was Jewish, but that little cylinder is a Mezuzah and ugly contractor-grade holder. The scroll alas is printed, but it's still good since this was never hung. IIRC when a building is sold the scroll has to be replaced.

 

$2 pick up at the local thrift.



Struck out at the auction since the few "good" items sold way too high and the rest was absolute rubbish.

 

Nice finds all. I went out last weekend, the antique malls are jamming their booths due to Christmas. Found these 20% off, so each was $9. I still have a few things to photograph. I looked on the internet, haven't found a set of rose quartz beads like this with a Buddha. The greeny necklace seems to be a jadeite or nephrite, spinach jade? Chime in if you recognize what it is, I can never ID jade. The clasp is goldwashed sterling.
