    Emphasis on the 'na' part? Or am I getting tangled in a multi-lingual web.:confused:
    You could always add two more and say you have a distant Hawaiian ancestor.:smuggrin:

    So do I.:)
    You asked the name for the handle. I know there is a specific name, and I used to have information on that, but lost it in a computer crash.:arghh:

    I think gregsglass mentioned it too. He is no longer with us, so we can't ask him. You could search through his posts, but he replied to just about every thread since 2014 until this year, when he very sadly passed away. So that is a few thousand posts, at least.:(

    The selection I posted is less, and you can see what 'handle' phrase he posted in the list pages as you see them. You don't have to read every single thread.:)

    I've looked in the selection, but can't find anything useful. Searched the forum for 2 hours, but couldn't find anything. this morning I searched the wiki and came across the term whiplash. could it be whiplash style?

    The whiplash or whiplash line is a motif of decorative art and design that was particularly popular in Art Nouveau. It is an asymmetrical, sinuous line, often in an ornamental S curve, usually inspired by natural forms such as plants and flowers, which suggests dynamism and movement.[1] It took its name from a woven fabric panel called "Coup de Fouet" ("Whiplash") by the German artist Hermann Obrist (1895) which depicted the stems and roots of the cyclamen flower.

    Whiplash is not a style, it is a motif which characterises Art Nouveau.
    You handle is not an Art Nouveau whiplash motif, and your decanter is not Art Nouveau.
    This is the whiplash motif, on the wall of one of my favourite houses, by Victor Horta, in Brussels:

    Closer to home, the iconic 'Delftsche Slaolie' advertising poster by Jan Toorop, the hair of the ladies is made up of 'whiplashes':

    Because of this poster, Art Nouveau was dubbed "spaghetti en slaoliestijl" in the Netherlands. (Spaghetti and salad oil style)

    @Erik Aunapuu

    In Hawaiian, I believe it would be pronounced:

Ah U Na Pu’u :joyful:
