    It can trash the paint on painted bakelite. On those pieces if I have to test, I test on already worn spots because any chemical test will take paint off.

    Yeah, EXCEPT if you plan it right, those Early Birds will haul your boxes our of your garage for you just for the chance to be first to see inside them!! (True story! I’m a 20+ year veteran of L.A. garage sales— and have the battle scars to prove it!!!)

    Darned tootin'. One of the "rules" here is early birds have to help you unpack if they want first crack at the stuff. I've done it enough.
