    Hello,
We have this big Galle vase onion shape and quite big at 76cm.
Any additional info would be much appreciated, date or name, or if it is rare or common.
    Thank you

Welcome, Olvia. It is indeed beautiful, but it is best if you embed your photos in your thread.

Galle used maidenhair ferns rather a lot as decoration. Lovely example.

Thank you very much for your hints so far...I have a bit more for you.. I noticed that at some point in the perimeter the glass looks as if it is melted and somehow the design looks melted too at that point. Could that be due to some previous repaire?

Wow! How has that survived?. A 6” bud vase has a limited life expectancy in our house….
    That’s amazing :)

    I'm confused. . .

Olvia said her vase is 76cm which is almost 30".

Sorry, I was meaning that even a tiny bud vase (6”) in my house is very likely to be broken as there are two children and am expressing amazement as to how this one at 76cm has survived in any one’s house. We can’t keep a tiny one unbroken, let alone this!

Think this is a reproduction. It is acid etched and the back did not get dipped enough to complete the pattern. Here is an example of a real Galle' maidenhair fern vase for comparison.

Lovely though it is, I got that impression as well. Those very sharp, straight edges on both the signature and the ferns looked different from the more rounded edges of designs and marks on Gallé glass.
I hope my inexpert explanation makes sense.:shame:
