Carved Wood Elongated Face Mask

OK, here is the other carved wood consignment I mentioned before. Y'all came up with good useful info on that one, what can you tell me about this?
It measures about 16" long, yet only 3-5/8" at widest. (Still called a mask, though, right?)
I've looked in printed reference and online, but found nothing very similar to this; any clues?

 

I think it may be a fairly contemporary Makonde (Tanzania) carving, portraying a Shetani (bush spirit). Their style uses those elongated, openwork, grotesque features. Most of the work I have seen is in ebony, which is a 2-tone, very heavy wood. But I am seeing some in my internet search done in a lighter wood as well, such as yours.
