Someone informed me this was a repro due to the "usa" stamp on bottom (?) True or ? They also said resale was like $6 which I find hard to believe (at least I hope not!) TIA 20211208_105017_copy_756x1008.jpg 20211208_105206_copy_1008x756.jpg

As far as I can tell, Crown was a line of RRPCo. The crown logo was used since the 1920s, but I think this is from the Williamsburg line of the 1970s. Crockerfarm is a good place to ask.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Is that crock as chipped and cracked around the top as it looks?? If so, that certainly would affect value..........

Is the bar code original to the churn?

The barcode threw me.....wasn't in pics in auction (came from an estate auction) & I'm not sure if it was something the owners purchased at a store/thrift shop or as a reproduction.....odd...

A thrift wouldn't go to all the expense of individual bar codes. I can't read it, except Made in the U.S.A. on the bottom and Churn w/lid 3 Gal. at the top. Does it say Robinson Ransbottom Pottery? Oh, duh, definitely not antique.

No it does not. I thought it was a Crown crock....

    JMHO.
modern copy of Westerwald saltglaze stoneware. same as King beer steins - no lasting value for serious collectors. I wouldn't spend 6 $.

This info is from Lehner's book of marks. Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Co did make the Crown Pottery brand. Google says they were in business until 2005. I enlarged the UPC label on the base of yours and it looks like it might say Robinson Ransbottom Potter in the area I pointed to. I think the "K" is actually a funny "A" with a tail on the cross line in the USA. 20211213_102624.jpg 20211213_102645.jpg 20211213_102652.jpg

Me too....it took awhile. I will try to get a better look at the bar code on the bottom tomorrow....work all day today, then have to take cat to the vet in the AM etc etc....I'll hopefully get to it by the afternoon!

It DOES say Robinson Ransbottom on the barcode! So....what does this mean again? LOL My head is spinning I'm doing way too many auctions/too much stuff right now! It looks like it's either mark 9 or 10 based on Say it's chart, but don't know if age can be determined by these marks.....guessing this is a more "modern" crock, not quite vintage (yet)

AND....Say it slowly....you are correct about the "A".....when I looked more closely it IS a fancy letter "A" w a little tail on it......
