Persian style painting on cellulose

This little 12x8 cm painting turned up in a mixed lot today.

It depicts a bearded man but on closer inspection the face is made up of animals and people.

Can anybody tell me about this type of art?

It appears to be signed

Unusual. Reminds me of the Freud poster "what is on a man's mind", only more innocent.
Most of these miniatures are painted on camel bone and framed in a khatamkari frame (inlaid with tiny pieces of wood, bone and metal).

 

Thank you Any Jewelry I have done a bit more research and I believe that the style is known as Composite Painting. This was in the Khatam Kari frame you describe but it was a very poor fit and I felt that it was not original. There were several other paintings in the group and the reverse of those were marked "Omomi the Elder" in pencil. However, I think they refer to Ahmed Omoumi . Sadly I can find very little about him online. The signature on the picture in the link is very similar to that on mine (mine abridged).
