Help me identify the New York Yankee in this photo

It measures 11x14 it seems to be on an old photo card stock type material. There’s nothing on the back of it. If anyone can provide some information it would be greatly appreciated , thank you

    I agree that it looks like Whitey Ford. Quite a bit, I think. There is a photo in Getty Images that is taken directly into his face like this, and looks exactly the same.

    I didn't realize that he died just a little over a year ago.
