Does anyone know anything about possible age/origin/details?

    It’s a drop leaf silver storage chest/table with pedestal base and brass feet.

    That is cool! It looks quite short though. Awkward height for access to your table silver. My first thought was a modified neo-Duncan Phyfe side table. It doesn't appear to be a marriage though.

    No marriage or conversion, an original silver chest table from Oneida Community, that Italic trademark would be circa 1940s-50s, though similar pieces were made earlier, offered by other manufacturers as well. I have a simpler Federal-style 1-tier table, they're nice, but you have to remove anything on top to access the silver...

    Here's a 1941 ad showing a waterfall chest table (mine has a similar shelf), the Italic trademark was in use by then, but not used here:
