This bowl is 9 7/8 X 6 1/4 looks orange to me but mild research says it might be considered uranium red. Need a Fiesta Enthusiast to confirm the color please. Thanks. Also the bowl has a hqairline that runs down from the rim about 2 1/2" and it is a #6

Cameras on automatic, choosing settings for you, not infrequently 'correct' the color. It's not you; it's it.

Vintage Fiesta ware was discontinued in January, 1973 and was re-introduced sometime in 1986. As far as I know, there was no "orange" color in the vintage line, just the red, which has always seemed to me to have an orange cast. The post '86 orange was called Tangerine and is a much lighter and a more true orange color than your bowl is showing.
The shape of your bowl has been produced both in the vintage as well as the post '86 line.
Your safest approach to determining the year would be to google Fiesta markings, there is a wealth of information out there and the differences in markings can be subtle.

    Hi,
When Fiesta was introduced in 1936 there was NO true red glaze. The orange of Fiesta was called red. It seems crazy but that was the way it was. Your bowl looks like the original red. If the back stamp is curved it is the newer. Yours look like the straight line non capitalized old stamp. There is a TRUE red Fiesta being made but it is call Scarlett.

If not good for eating off rare and good for showing off. Probably less toxic than my blood pressure pills. :hungover:

    Hi,
There has been so much said about the radioactive red Fiesta. I had my Fiesta stored in a wooden display cabinet for over 45 years. When I was moving I had a friend with a Geiger Counter come over and measure the wooden cabinet it had no more radioactivity than the background. In fact the mailbox in front of the place had a higher count than my cabinet. I have never been afraid since. My BIL chewed on window sills covered with lead paint. His goofy actions for years was blamed on the lead paint. I think he is a a goofy acting kid.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
