Featured Oil lamp base with griffins (?) any resale value?

    I've never seen a burner stuck to a base.....that;s odd..
    it could have had a hurricane.......
    but still....looks cobbled together....

    Not a shade. A glass chimney. It would tension fit in the decorative top section (Gallery). Measure the diameter before you purchase.

    I agree. That font looks like it sat down into something in its prior life.

    So here's a pic that shows the font and the base separated. So unless those two slide down into a third piece, that's it, and the font slides down perfectly so seems like those two pieces were meant for each other. I agree just a hurricane chimney seems kinda odd for it but I don't know how else you could attach a shade?
    So sounds like the opinion thus far is this is just an ugly marriage of some sort and doesn't ring a bell as to a maker/model? lol wah wah
